Crying is a baby’s primary form of communication. It is not a judgment on your parenting.
Babies cry for many reasons:
-
Hunger
-
Discomfort
-
Gas
-
Fatigue
-
Overstimulation
-
Need for closeness
Sometimes, all needs are met — and babies still cry. That doesn’t mean you failed.
When crying feels overwhelming, pause. Breathe. Check the basics. If your baby is safe and you feel overstimulated, it’s okay to step away briefly.
A calm, regulated mother helps more than a frantic response.
You are allowed to have limits.
You are allowed to feel frustrated.
Those feelings do not define your love.
